Thank You So Very Much
I would like to thank everyone who sent Prayers, Get Well
cards and called with Best Wishes during my recent illness. This
was my second battle with Non-hodgkin's Lymphoma. It was a
difficult time but the Stem Cell transplant was successful . And,
I am Cancer free as of my last examination. I really need to
thank Dr. Peri as well as Doctor Richard Jones and all the
wonderful nurses and the many other medical personnel who
cared for me at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md. and
Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, De.
Tremendous love and gratitude is felt for my children, Michael,
Steven and Karen, and my sisters, Anita and Barbara, who
helped take care of me and my little Yorkie babies for all those
months. And Judy, my dear friend, who cared for Kate and her
new little pup, Cooper, no words can ever express how much you
are appreciated and loved. It takes a special person to care for a
new Yorkie Mom and her baby and then be willing to give them
back!
My love and deep appreciation for my sister, Anita, has no
bounds. She kept me safe and cared for while Rob was trying to
get our home back to normal since January. 2005. As you may
know, we also had a flood in our home just after the transplant
and 35,000+ gallons of water filled our house and almost
completely ruined our home. All our furniture and belongings as
well as all our Yorkie stuff was lost. We are still working to get
things back to normal. Fortunately, we're almost there!
Since there was so much damage and I had no immune system to
speak of, I wasn't allowed to go home. So, Anita kept me at her
home and took very good care of me for nearly 8 months. I
could never repay her kindness and selflessness. She is the
model for loving and dedicated sisters... She even let me watch
the Food channel and Days of Our Lives!
And that takes me to my dear husband, Rob. Thank you so much
for being with me the entire time at Johns Hopkins and for
taking such loving and wonderful care of me, both physically,
mentally and spiritually. I couldn't have done this without you. I
know it was at great expense to you and your job to be with me
all those months and to watch me go through the transplant.
And, even worse, all the complications that followed it. Thank
you is certainly not enough. But, I did learn a lot of new dishes
from the Food Network and as soon as I can, you will be getting
loads of delicious meals to go along with loads of love for you for
all you do for me!
And, not to be forgotten, thank you to all of you who inquired
about puppies and were disappointed. I am really sorry that we
had to put everything on the back burner but we are almost
back to our "normal" days now. We will be anxious to announce
new babies coming. Of course, we will be waiting for our ladies
to be ready and we all know that you can't rush Mother Nature
or a Yorkie!
Finally, for any of you who have had to deal with Cancer or if
you care for someone with it, please feel free to contact me for
any support that I can offer. We are suvivors...we just need to
be supported while along the way. I am here for you. Call,
e-mail or send smoke signals and I will make myself available for
you or your loved one.
God bless you and all you love.
